Know more about the Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church

The beginnings of Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church were like a mustard seed. The Ang Mo Kio Pioneer Work Committee, led by the late Rev. Wong Hoon Hee, was where it all began in January 1977. The first pastor named Pastor-In-Charge (PIC) of Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church was Rev. Wong. It became the General Conference’s first attempt at constructing a church. We held our first Sunday Worship Service in the new sanctuary on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1981. To house our third service, our Contemporary service that began in August 1997, the third-story Chapel gets constructed in the middle of 1997. On the bottom floor, a Children’s Chapel underwent renovations that get finished in October 1999. Pastor Stanley Chua delivered his final sermon as pastor-in-charge of our church on July 27, 2014, before departing for his studies in the United States. Since Pastor Melvin Huang retired as a Methodist Pastor on December 31, 2018, he has served as Pastor-in-Charge since August 2014. As of 2019, Pastor Anthony Lee will serve as the lead pastor of Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church.

Music & Worship Ministry:

Every Sunday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 5 p.m., the Worship & Music (W&M) Ministry of the Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church (TRAC) (AMKMC) co-leads the worship services. Our services follow a standard worship sequence that incorporates the depth of traditional liturgical worship and the dynamism and spontaneity of Spirit-led worship. We hope that everyone will be able to learn from their worship experiences that prayer is not about personal preferences but can be enriched and broadened by adhering to the calendar of the universal church and its various liturgical seasons.

Family Life Ministry:

Through planned activities and events, FLM works to give families the chance to come together and develop. FLM aspires to enhance the family at every stage of life, including marriage, parenting (children, youth), and singledom. It collaborates with several Ministries, including Men’s Fellowship, WSCS, Seniors, etc. With a focus on the “whole of life,” FLM aims to give families and individuals at every stage of life the chance to learn and share more about biblical principles about marriage, parenting, and life skills.

Our cells are areas for worship, prayer, sharing fellowship, Bible study, evangelism and outreach, pastoral care, and discipleship. Every year, our cell groups would participate in the church’s Cell Word series (tied into pulpit preaching). Each cell has access to a list of resources and Bible study materials for use in cell meetings.
