Anglo Chinese School International Singapore Students

The Ultimate Guide To Anglo-Chinese School International Singapore

Since its foundation in 1886, the Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) has influenced the lives of hundreds of thousands of students. Today, it is a family of six excellent schools in Singapore including ACS (Independent), ACS (Junior), ACS (Primary), and Anglo-Chinese School International Singapore with a total enrolment of over 10,000 students. All ACS schools uphold the ACS traditions and have built an excellent reputation for producing some of the country’s most accomplished leaders, entrepreneurs, and athletes.

Curriculum:

Our English-medium program lasts six years. Students who have a solid command of English as a first language get placed in the Mainstream program, which runs from Year 1 through Year 6. In Years 1 and 2, Anglo-Chinese School International Singapore students complete a primary academic curriculum before choosing subject combinations for the two-year International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Year 3 and the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Year 5. Some students take the Cambridge ‘O’ Level in their native tongue. We also provide Second Language Bridging lessons to students learning English as a Second Language in Years 1, 2, and 4. (EAL). Bridging students usually enroll in classes the following year. 2 Pre-IGCSE Bridging students get transferred to Year 3 IGCSE Mainstream. Year 4 Foundation IB is a one-year curriculum for students who have a good command of the English language and have not completed the two-year IGCSE course leading up to the IBDP.

Co-Curricular Activities:

Our Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) program strives to support students’ overall development and help them reach their full potential outside of the classroom. Students must complete one CCA from any CCA category, such as Interest Groups, Performing Arts, or Sports. Unlike a regular CCA program, CCAs at ACS (International) get structured in a way that permits and encourages students to express themselves in a variety of settings. Students can participate in as many CCAs as they choose during the year, and they can alter their CCAs each year if they desire. Some CCAs are open all year, while others are only open for a season or term. All CCAs are the free time of registration (students may need to purchase some equipment/attire or pay for activities such as trips or excursions).
