Broadway Plaza is a commercial area located in downtown Walnut Creek. Macerich, who owns and operates the shopping center, celebrated its grand opening on October 11, 1951. Nearly 80 stores, including Crate & Barrel, flagship H&M, and ZARA stores, an independent Apple store with a nearby outdoor plaza, an Industrious co-working space, a planned Pinstripes entertainment complex, and restaurant, and a Life Time Fitness gym are among the Broadway Plaza nearly 80 tenants. Nordstrom and Macy’s serve as the mall’s anchors.
On October 18, 1951, Broadway Plaza opened its doors to 38 retailers. The mall’s initial major tenants included JCPenney, Sears, Woolworths, Joseph Magnin (later I. Magnin), and a Lucky Supermarket. The Oakland-based department store Capwell debuted in 1954 as the center’s sixth anchor. In 1995, it converted to Macy’s, and the same year, I. Magnin became a separate Macy’s Men’s department. As the first of several significant modifications to the shopping mall, Neiman Marcus joined Broadway Plaza in March 2012. Plans for substantial refurbishment, adding 300,000 square feet of retail space, were approved in December 2013.

The Security Office situate next to the Management Office on the second level, facing the Main Street Parking Garage. All security personnel has completed First Aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
Behind ZARA, adjacent to the Nordstrom eBar, and close to the Main Entrance of the S. Broadway Parking Garage are the three sites where bathrooms get located.
There are bike racks close to True Food Kitchen and Nordstrom/Boudins.
