Singapore Bus Services (SBS) constructed the Bukit Batok Bus Depot, which opened for business in January 1985 after the company left its previous Alexandra Depot location. SBS buses parked at the Portsdown, Whitley, or King Albert bus parks, as well as the Alexandra or Woodlands Depots, were all moved to the new depot. Because the depot is a part of industrial development, it is far from the nearby apartment buildings, which reduces noise pollution for locals. The depot, which covers 52,187 square meters and gets constructed for an estimated $12 million, is well furnished with bus washers, spray painting booths, and gasoline pumps.
