All You Need To Know About Bulim Bus Depot

The Land Transport Authority of Singapore erected Bulim Bus Depot as its first bus depot. The Bulim Bus Package’s thirty bus services buses housed there. It situated in Jurong West along Bulim Avenue. Since July 31, 2015, Tower Transit Singapore has been running the Bulim Bus Depot. On December 6, 2015, Hong Kah MP Amy Khor formally inaugurated the depot. The depot can hold roughly 500 buses and equipment for routine bus repair, daily bus operations, and rest space for bus drivers.


The Bulim Bus Depot, which will be the first depot that the Land Transport Authority develops and finances, part of the review of the enhanced structural assistance the government is providing the bus industry was announced Committee of Supply (COS) 2012 and reviewed by LTA on April 23, 2013. The depot designed to hold the extra buses that added during the following few years. A portion of the depot opened for bus parking on August 17, 2014. As the overall bus capacity gradually under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme, the operator’s existing bus depots and bus parks were at capacity facilities were required to serve the growing number of buses (BSEP).

Bulim Bus Depot Entrance 

The depot was given to Tower Transit Singapore by the Land Transport Authority on July 31, 2015, allowing Tower Transit to outfit the depot and train its bus captains and technicians in advance of the start of operations. SMRT Buses continued to have a parking place in the depot even after turning over to the operator.

Concerning Bulim Bus Depot

In contrast to other bus depotsoperated by bus operators, Bulim Bus Depot was the first depot the Land Transport Authority (LTA) had designed and sponsored. 

Accommodate new buses are introduced over time as the overall bus capacity rises under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme depots built with government funds as part of the government’s increased structural assistance provided to the bus industry (as announced in the Committee of Supply (COS) 2012). KTC Civil Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd received contract RD258 for S$87.5 million to design and build Bulim Depot.The 550 buses can park and maintained at the station.

Model for Bus Contracting (BCM)

Bulim Bus Depot and the Bulim Bus Package combined under the BCM. These routes primarily served by the Bukit Batok, Jurong East and Clementi Bus Interchanges and all bus operations on these routes managed by the station.

Bus services covered by these bus packages may garage at either Bulim Bus Depot or Mandai Bus Depot as part of Tower Transit’s successful bid for Contract PT217: Bus Contracting – Bulim and Sembawang-Yishun Bus Packages.

Bus Depot in Bulim Open House

On Sunday, December 6, 2015, Tower Transit hosted an Open House for the Bulim Depot. The occasion gave Tower Transit Singapore a chance to demonstrate its new depot and inform the public about what to expect when the BCM went into effect the following year. Additionally, the general public could view static display buses and sign up for job openings with Tower Transit.
