Lola’s Café

The Honey Paprika Crispy Wings have helped Lola’s Café establish itself as one of Singapore’s original eateries.

The vast brunch menu at this Café, which includes favourites like eggs benedict and the large breakfast, obviously has much more than just chicken wings. It is a terrific place for a café date paired with a quality cup of coffee!

Sin Heng Kee Porridge

One of Hougang’s best-kept secrets, Sin Heng Kee Porridge is only known to those who live there or frequently visit the neighbourhood.

However, don’t be fooled by the term “hidden gem,” as you can nearly always anticipate lengthy, snaking lines when you come. The porridge at Sin Heng Kee has a thick, gooey texture that is true to the Original Cantonese congee cuisine, is bursting with flavour, and is simply soothing in every sense of the term.

Dim Sum from Hong Kong, Yi Dian Xin

Yi Dian Xin is well-known among dim sum fans for its high-caliber, top-notch dim sum that is available without paying restaurant charges. Make sure to buy their liu sha bao, perhaps the cheapest in Singapore at 3 for SGD$3.80! Another delicacy well regarded is their steamed BBQ pork bao, which you will discover when you bite through the fluffy bao and then tuck into the mildly sweet char siew.
