ITE’s Transformational Milestones
In April 1992, the Ministry of Education (MOE) established the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) as a post-secondary school to take over the functions of the Vocational and Industrial Training Board (VITB). Since then, ITE has evolved into Singapore’s leading provider of Career and Technical Education. We continue to strive for quality, having won the Singapore Quality Award (SQA) in 2005 and the Singapore Quality Award (with Special Commendation) (SQA SC) in 2011. In 2017, we marked the 25th anniversary of our ‘Inspiration, Transformation, and Excellence’ journey by introducing the Work-Study Diploma as a new path for our alumni.
Global Collaborations
Every year send around 3,000 students to 25 different countries for short-term experiences. It allows them to appreciate working in various cultures and environments while also improving their readiness to work abroad after graduation. Our students participate in the Overseas Student Exchange Program (OSEP), where they take classes at other schools and gain credits toward their certificates. Our students participate in the Overseas Service & Development Program (OSDP), where they participate in community service projects as part of their development as compassionate global citizens.
