History
The School of Business and Services, School of Hospitality, School of Engineering, and School of Info-Comm Technology opened in July 2010 on a 9.54-hectare mega-campus. ITE College West formed from the merger of four ITE campuses: Dover, Balestier, Bukit Batok, and Clementi. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officially launched the campus, which was built by Gammon Construction under a PPP contract, on April 18, 2011.
Activities
Clubs, Committees, and community service organisations organise various co-curricular activities (CCA) for students. Active participation in the CCA can assist ITE graduates in continuing to ITE Higher Nitec or Polytechnic diploma courses and earn a ‘CCA bonus point’ of 0.2, 0.15, 0.1, and 0.05, respectively.
Awards
ITE has received numerous national and international honours. It was the first educational institution in Singapore to get the Singapore Quality Award from Spring Singapore in 2005. This award recognises world-class companies that exhibit the highest levels of business achievement. ITE has also received the Prime Minister’s Office’s Public Service Distinguished Award in 2010 and Spring Singapore’s Singapore Innovation Class in 2011. ITE earned the inaugural Harvard-IBM Innovations Award in Transforming Government in 2007, out of 30 countries that competed. The Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University bestowed this distinguished award, which recognises ITE’s programmes as having a significant influence on citizens’ lives.
Real World, Real Work Learning
Nothing beats learning from real-world experts. The courses at ITE are designed in collaboration with the industry to guarantee that you graduate with work-ready skills relevant to changing industry needs. Our technical education includes an industry internship. The Enhanced Internship Program, part of the ‘Campus@Workplace’ concept, will allow you to spend three to six months in the industry and gain significant real-world experience and vital life skills. Our lecturers will keep in close contact with you to guarantee that your internship is a success. Within our Colleges, collaborate with industry to create authentic learning settings and facilities that reflect the real world’s future workplace.
