Learn more about the Jewel Changi Airport
Jewel Changi Airport, often known as Jewel or Jewel Changi, is a three-terminal entertainment and retail complex with a natural history theme housed inside Changi Airport in Singapore. The Rain Vortex, the highest indoor waterfall in the world, and a tiered forest environment serve as its focal points. Jewel has a hotel, around 300 shops and restaurants, gardens, and attractions addition to early baggage check-in airport facilities. With a gross floor area of 135,700 m2, it has ten floors, five above and five below ground . Jewel Changi Airport highlights include the Shiseido Forest Valley, a five-story indoor garden, and the Canopy Park, a recreational area with gardens at the top level.
Shiseido Valley Forest:
The Shiseido Forest Valley, an indoor garden covering five levels and roughly 22,000 square meters (240,000 square feet) in the center of Jewel Changi Airport, is a collaboration between Shiseido and the art group teamLab.
The Rain Vortex:
With a height of 40 meters, The Rain Vortex sponsored as The HSBC Rain Vortex is the largest and highest indoor waterfall (130 feet). Rainwater can enter a pool that receives feed from a system through a sphere-shaped opening in the roof.
Canopy Park is home to two gardens—Topiary Walk and Petal Garden around half of the complete landscaping. Two other mazes in the park are the Hedge Maze and Mirror Maze, which are both situated toward Jewel’s eastern boundary.
Due to sponsorship, the Sky Nets often referred to as the Manulife Sky Nets, provide play spaces for children that feature a walking net and a bouncing net.
There are four interconnected slides in the Discovery Slides: two tube slides and two sliding surfaces. Visitors can overlook the Forest Valley and the Rain Vortex from the construction, which gets perched 3 meters on one side of the slope.
The Foggy Bowls are four concave bowls that range in depth from 30 centimeters to 65 centimeters and get used for jumping while the mist is released to give the impression that one is playing amid clouds.
On April 12, 2019, a hotel inside Jewel with roughly 130 rooms run by the global hotel chain YOTEL launched. After the YOTEL on Orchard Road opened its doors in 2017, this is the brand’s second hotel in Singapore.
Ticketing, boarding pass pickup, and luggage transfer services are all offered in one area in an “integrated multi-modal travel lounge.” Passengers can check-in and leave their bags at early check-in locations up to 24 hours before the standard check-in time.
Local and foreign brands can find in Retail Jewel. Marks & Spencer, Muji, Zara, Uniqlo, and Singapore’s second basement theatre, operated by Shaw Theatres, have 11 screens totaling 828 seats, including an IMAX theatre. Five Spice, a food court by Food Junction with 19 distinctive stalls, supermarket chain FairPrice Finest, and the largest Nike store in Southeast Asia are among the anchor tenants.
