Train station (MRT)
Lentor MRT Station (TE5) is an underground station located along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) 2. It is built underneath Lentor Drive, at the junction with Yio Chu Kang Road and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, bringing rail connectivity to residential developments in the area.
Lentor MRT Station is in the vicinity of the Lentor residential estate, comprising mostly of low-rise private homes, as well as condominiums such as Far Horizon Gardens and The Calrose. West of the station, more residential developments are being planned.
Lentor MRT Station was originally targeted for completion and opening in Year 2020. However, it was delayed till Q1 2021 and later further delayed to Q3 2021 in December 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The opening date was announced to be on 28 Aug 2021 in end-June 2021.
Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange is a bus station located in the northern part of the Ang Mo Kio estate, serving residential areas around Ang Mo Kio, Yio Chu Kang, and Lentor.
The interchange wraps around Yio Chu Kang MRT Station, with the boarding concourse area at the north end, and the alighting berth and bus park at the south end. Nearby amenities include Yio Chu Kang Stadium / Swimming Complex, Presbyterian High School, Anderson Junior College, and Nanyang Polytechnic.
A new interchange concourse was partially opened on Sunday, 13 October 2019, with several bus services relocated there. The remaining bus services were relocated on Sunday, 17 November 2019. Now fully opened, the new concourse combines end-on parking berths with sawtooth boarding berths in a single new facility.
Lentor Modern location is relatively accessible to the major expressway network. It is within 7 minutes drive to both the Central Expressway (CTE) via Yio Chu Kang Road, as well as the Seletar Expressway via Lentor Avenue.
Once on the CTE, it should take roughly 30 to 35 minutes of off-peak driving time to get to the CBD and Marina Bay. It is faster to Changi Airport about a 20-minute drive.
A network of arterial roads and expressways serve this area. Such as the Central (CTE) and Seletar Expressways (SLE), along with the upcoming North-South Corridor or NSC.

Lentor Hillock Park conveniently located near the upcoming Lentor MRT station is planned around an existing hillock. It will feature new parks, seamless pedestrian and cycling connectivity between Teachers Estate and Lentor MRT station, as well as commercial amenities to serve the community.
Central Catchment Nature Reserve is the largest of the nature reserves in Singapore, the Central Catchment Nature Reserve occupies over 2,000 hectares of forest cover and is home to some of the richest forests in terms of biodiversity.
Dipterocarp forests, which are species-rich primary lowland forests, were once abundant in Singapore before human settlements developed. Today, less than 0.5% of the original primary forest cover remains and it can only be found in small patches within the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. An even rarer forest type in Singapore is the primary freshwater swamp forest, with the most significant remaining patch being the Nee Soon Swamp Forest in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve.
Ang Mo Kio-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital is a 370-bedded community hospital that offers rehabilitative and subacute care. They offer a customized care plan for every patient, to help them regain independence and mobility so as to integrate back into the community.
NHGP Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic provides primary care such as medical treatment, preventive healthcare, and health education, at a subsidized cost. Patients can be referred from polyclinics to hospitals if they need more specialized treatment, or be warded if needed.
Cheng San Community Club has the distinction of being the first CC to be situated by a park, being connected to the Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East. Its location allows the CC to conduct more outdoor activities and provides easy access for park users as well as residents walking toward the MRT station.
Amidst its scenic and natural environment, the Community Club also boasts a rooftop terrace, a guest lounge, and a fully-equipped theatrette.
Church of Christ the King was established in 1982 and serves Ang Mo Kio and Bishan neigbourhoods.
The Roman Catholic Church in Singapore was initially under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Malacca erected in 1558. She was transferred to the Vicariate Apostolic of Ava and Pegu in 1838 and then the Vicariate Apostolic of Siam in 1840. In 1841, the Church was placed under the jurisdiction of the Vicariate Apostolic of Western Siam which was erected by the Vicariate Apostolic of Siam. Initially called the Vicariate Apostolic of Western Siam, the name was changed to the Vicariate Apostolic of the Malay Peninsula and finally the Vicariate Apostolic of Malacca-Singapore.
In 1888, the Church was once again placed under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Malacca when the Diocese was revived. The Diocese of Malacca was raised to the rank of an archdiocese in 1953. In 1955, the Archdiocese of Malacca was split and an ecclesiastical province was formed in its place comprising the Archdiocese of Malacca-Singapore as the metropolitan see and the dioceses of Kuala Lumpur and Penang as suffragan dioceses.
In 1972, the Archdiocese of Malacca-Singapore was split into the Diocese of Malacca-Johor and the Archdiocese of Singapore with the Archdiocese of Singapore.
Kong Meng San Phor Kark is the largest Buddhist temple in Singapore, and I would argue that it’s probably the most beautiful Buddhist temple in the country.
Kong Meng San means Bright Hill, while Phor Kark means the Monastery of Universal Awakening. Hence, Kong Kong Meng San Phor Kark was founded in 1921 by Venerable Sik Zhuan Dao.
Kong Meng San Phor Kark is home to a Buddhist College, monastery, tranquil pond, praying halls, memorial hall, sacred Bodhi Tree, meditation hall, crematorium, and columbarium. It is especially crowded during major festivals, such as Chinese New Year, Qing Ming Festival, and Vesak Day.

Anderson Primary School was formed in the year 2000 from a merger of three schools – Ang Mo Kio North Primary School, Hong Dao Primary School and Li Hua Primary School. Over the first seven years, the school has, under the leadership of its first Principal, Mr Lawrence Chong, established itself as a preferred school in Ang Mo Kio. Its positive public image built on strong partnerships with parents and the community as well as its established track record and co-curricular programmes enabled the school to attract a strong demand for places at all levels. Mr Martin Tan led the school for the next five years from 2007 – 2011, followed by Mrs Tan Wie Pin for the next seven years from 2012 – 2018.
Mayflower Primary School was established on 2 January 1979 with 56 classes, 77 teachers and 2,395 pupils. It was then located at 20 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and named after the old Mayflower Estate that once stood there. The school functioned in two sessions, sharing its premises with Ang Mo Kio Primary School. In July 1980 the school was officially opened by Mr Yeo Toon Chia, then Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio.
Chij St. Nicholas Girls’ School was established by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus near the Town Convent at Victoria Street on 16 January 1933 as a Chinese-medium primary school for girls. The school began with an enrolment of 40 pupils in two classes, Primary One and Primary Two. At that time the entire teaching staff consisted of only two people, the principal who taught English, and another teacher who served as a Chinese instructor. At that time, the principal, Sister Francoise Lee, felt the need to cater to Chinese Catholic girls. She pushed for the expansion of the Town Convent to include a Chinese school. That school was built on the former building complex of Hotel van Wijk, run by missionaries to provide education for daughters of Chinese-speaking families, including disadvantaged families and wealthy Chinese merchants alike. The decision to purchase Hotel van Wijk was in part a preventive measure against moral corruption. The former building complex was a hotbed for prostitution activities, thus the purchase would indirectly reduce the such influence on the girls living in the convent. Sister Francoise Lee led fundraising to make the purchase possible. However, the English section of the convent occupied the new building, while the Chinese section was relocated to the old buildings, citing reasons of a larger English population needing more space. In 1941, the school expanded into a full school.
Ang Mo Kio Primary School was the first school to be built in Ang Mo Kio New Town which was being developed during the late seventies. For the first three months, the new Primary 1 pupils were housed in Dorset Primary School. The pupils moved into its premises at 22, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. They were joined by pupils and teachers from Jalan Kayu Primary School which closed down that year. Mr Oh Choon Eng was our first principal. On Friday, 12th October 1978, the school was officially declared open by Mr Yeo Toon Chia, then the Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio Constituency.
