Everything you need to know about the Lighthouse Evangelism

With Pastor Rony and eight other pioneering members, Lighthouse Evangelism set out on her adventure on April 16, 1978. It gets appointed by Jubilee Presbyterian Church and held its inaugural service at Chip Bee Centre with 24 attendees, the majority of whom came as a result of the door-to-door evangelism of our pioneers. With the help of 10 Lighters, Pastor Rony launched an outreach at Hotel Grand Central on January 1, 1984, handing Pastor Clarence Goh over the running job at Chip Bee. 

200 worshipers attended the inaugural service, which drew 125 attendees after only 1.5 years. As the church grew, we built a second location and had our first service there on August 9, 2003, at Lighthouse Woodlands. Both structures were constructed entirely debt-free, a testament to God’s faithfulness and the help of our supporters, known as Lighters. 2018 marked the 40th anniversary of Lighthouse Evangelism. Pastor Pacer Tan took over as Senior Pastor of the church from Pastor Rony Tan.

Light College Extension School:

To prepare and empower the church to face the problems of our time, Lighthouse Evangelism is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Extension School, a component of Light College. The purpose of the Light College Extension School is to advance the development of biblical literacy in the churches in Singapore and elsewhere, particularly in the English and Chinese congregations of Lighthouse Evangelism. The program’s relevant courses will teach by a top-notch faculty to satisfy students’ appetite for the “flesh” of the Bible. In March and April of 2021, respectively, it officially debuted its English and Chinese courses. The 4-week live online English course “Let My People Think,” taught by Brother L.T. Jeyachandran, is an honor for Light College Extension School.

Pastors:

Pastor Pacer grew up in our church because he is the pastor’s son. He was 24 years old when he heard God’s call to the ministry. He has worked in various ministries, including singing, leading worship, working with young people, and preaching. He is renowned for his challenging sermons and strives to inspire followers to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. They stoke his passion for the countless possibilities of what God’s people can achieve together as they create the Kingdom. He wants Lighthouse to be a beacon that spreads the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the world, including our own.Racer and Rainbow, two lovely children of Pastor Pacer and Katherine, were born.
