The Loyang View Secondary School students thrive in an increasingly complicated and confusing future. As a result, the primary elements of the school’s instructional philosophy are character development, respect, and discipline. They instil a solid set of sound and lasting values in every student, equip them with the moral compass they need to make good decisions in life and help them grow into resilient and contributing members of society.
The Applied Learning Programme (ALP) – Sustainability
The Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Loyang View Secondary School began in the 2014 to expose children to design-based science activities to build STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) values and skill sets. The program’s focus is sustainability, and it aims to instil an attitude that Singapore will remain sustainable for future generations. The actions get intended to support one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, namely, affordable and clean energy.

The LLP promotes character development and instils values such as Integrity, Compassion, Respect for Different Cultures, Daring to Innovate in students, and the development of 21st Century skills.
Students will develop skills for personal development in competitive and leisure sports, as well as physical and outdoor activities, as a result of which they will appreciate sporting events and have a profound passion for lifetime learning.
To think internationally and act locally and ethically, nurture Strong moral ideals, a strong national identity, and global citizenship values.
Learning experiences and active engagement in sports, athletic, and outdoor activities can help you develop resilience and a desire to succeed.
Education and Career Guidance
Study and Career Guidance (ECG) aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to make informed decisions at each critical educational stage to facilitate a successful transition from school to further education or job. An investigation is emphasised in secondary schools to assist students in better understanding themselves in terms of skills, interests, and abilities and to lead their exploration of various educational and professional options. ECG develops social-emotional competencies and proactivity, flexibility, and resilience to educate students for the twenty-first century.
Student Leadership
Student Leadership cultivates self-assured, self-directed student leaders passionate about leading and serving others. Student leaders can develop and demonstrate their abilities through a variety of channels. Student Councillors, Class Leaders, and CCA Leaders make up LVSS’s student leadership.
