Millennia Institute (MI) is a Singapore-based three-year pre-university education institution. MI provides opportunities for students to interact, explore, and experience learning and growth to attain their goals in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world. The Institute’s values of Integrity, Responsibility, Respect, and Resilience will serve as an internal compass when the road becomes difficult and tumultuous.
Students in MILLENNIA INSTITUTE will acquire a spirit of the invention, enterprise, and emerging 21st-century competencies through a future-oriented curriculum and a holistic teaching and learning framework.
Admission
Millennia Institute accepts students based on academic performance through the yearly joint admissions exercise, permitting non-integrated program students to apply to post-secondary institutions based on their Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examination results. For admission to MILLENNIA INSTITUTE, the net aggregate L1R4 result consider, including the results of a first language and four relevant content-based topics (of which mathematics and a humanities subject get required).
Campus
The campus of Millennia Institute is roughly 16 hectares long and runs along Bukit Batok West Avenue 8. The purpose-built campus devoted to pre-university education gets completed with Junior College similar facilities, including two air-conditioned lecture theatres designed to seat the entire cohort at S$24 million.
Tutorial rooms are grouped in a single block, allowing easy access to lecture halls, canteens, and laboratories. A sports complex featuring a jogging track, AstroTurf hockey pitch, two tennis, two basketball, badminton, and volleyball courts is also available.
The “MIndSpace” library sits in the middle of campus. The MIndSpace has five discussion rooms on the upper floor for small-group study, conversations, or project work, as well as two instructional rooms with a capacity of 36 students for teaching and learning.
Academic information
Millennia Institute’s three-year program leads to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. Unlike two-year junior college courses, Millennia Institute students get an extra year to study for national exams, with Project Work and H1 level Mother Tongue Languages assessed in the second year. Millennia Institute is Singapore’s only public pre-university center to offer Commerce for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination with Business and Principles Management of Accounts getting the two Commerce stream academic courses available.
Curriculum hours
Individual levels’ curriculum hours differ in MI. MI starts at 8.45 a.m. and finishes at 5:25 p.m. Each lesson lasts for forty minutes. Students get a break or recess, and on rare days, specific courses may receive up to 120 minutes of breaks at once. Before marathon lessons such as lectures and extended tutorials, classes are allowed a second recess in the afternoon. Before CCA, Wednesdays conclude at 1.25 p.m.
MI Dance
MI has developed a unique and exclusive dance for its students. During orientation, all students must learn the dance, which they will perform at MI’s Promotional Night. The dance was created and choreographed to simplify some of the more difficult steps of a formal dance while also incorporating numerous modern and post-modern moves to improve the overall vibe. MI’s dance is culturally significant and easy to learn.
