Nanyang Polytechnic

How Nanyang Polytechnic Is Responsible For Student Development?

The Japan-Singapore Institute (JSI), German-Singapore Institute (GSI), and French-Singapore Institute (FSI) establish the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) in the late 1970s and early 1980s, respectively. The establishment of these cooperative training institutes with foreign governments was a crucial component of EDB’s successful response to the economic issues of the time in  Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). These schools offered the skilled labour that the newly formed industry demanded.

Future Skills for the Digital Workplace

The SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace (SFDW) is a two-day training programme that seeks to provide learners with core digital literacy abilities and the confidence to deal with the future digital workplace. In the launch phase,  Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) is one of seven training providers. The course is rich with practical ideas and interactive experiences carefully designed professionals at our School of Information Technology. NYP may adapt the training to a variety of industries. At NYP’s Asian Culinary Institute and Singapore Institute of Retail Studies, there are also specialised runs for the F&B and retail industries.
