Know All About The Orchard Gateway In Singapore

Orchard Gateway is a shopping complex on Orchard Road in Singapore that connects Orchard Central. It is next to the 313@Somerset MRT station. The mall was to open in November 2013. However, it was delayed and finally opened on April 26, 2014. It was on the old Specialists Shopping Centre and Orchard Emerald. The mall is part of integrated development with a hotel and an office tower. The hotel is over the mall, and the office tower is above Orchard Gateway. It is with every other retail complex located opposite Orchard Gateway. The hotel has 500 rooms and is to the office tower through a massive tube overhead bridge.

Architecture:

The 180,000 sq ft of retail space on six levels, including two basement levels, will host local and worldwide lifestyle brands and will be on property previously occupied by the Specialist Mall, the Phoenix Hotel, and the Orchard Emerald. The elevated glass bridge, an underpass over Orchard Road, and walkways linking the malls connect it to the Orchard Road retail centre.

Facilities:

As tenants, the mall has attracted worldwide businesses such as Crate & Barrel, Religion, Swatch, Nike’s new Amplify Women’s stand concept, and an NLB library. TI, J. Lindeberg, and Red Wing Shoes are the other tenants. The shopping centre’s principal tenant is the American furniture store Crate and Barrel, which has retail space on three levels. Orchard Gateway is also a sustainable building because it can generate electricity using biogas derived from food waste. It has a parking guidance system that directs motorists to the nearest parking space to reduce exhaust emissions. And it has UV emitters in air treatment units to improve air quality in the mall’s F&B areas.

Shangri-La’s Jen Orchardgateway Singapore:

JEN Orchardgateway hotel has an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and two bars/lounges. JEN The Singapore Orchardgateway by Shangrila has air-conditioned rooms, laptop-compatible safes, bottled water, 40-inch flat-screen television with cable channels, Bathrobes, slippers, and hairdryers are in the bathrooms. 

This Singapore hotel has a free wireless Internet connection. Desks and phones are available for business purposes, and local calls are free. Coffee/tea makers and blackout drapes/curtains are available in the rooms. Daily housekeeping and irons/ironing boards are accessible upon request. There is an outdoor pool and a hot tub on the property. A 24-hour fitness centre is also available for recreation.

The elevators’ construction began on June 28, 2000, and finished on July 11, 2002. From January 2007 until July 2009, the station’s exit B received extensive renovations. Exit D, which goes to the Orchard Gate, was inaugurated on April 25, 2014, along with Exit C, which also connects to the Orchard Gate.

Library:

On October 21, 1999, Minister for Information and Arts Lee Yock Suan inaugurated the library@orchard. It is on Level 5 of Ngee Ann City on Orchard Road in Singapore’s Central Business District. It closed on November 30, 2007, and reopened on October 23, 2014, near Somerset MRT station, at levels 3 and 4 of Orchard Gateway on Orchard Road by Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim.
