Know ABout Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church
Since its founding in 1939, the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church has provided religious services to the locals of Paya Lebar and Hougang. It belongs to the Methodist Church in Singapore’s Chinese Annual Conference. As stated in the vision statement “Build Up, Reach Out,” the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church shared the gospel with the people of Hougang. The Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church have the opportunity to share Jesus Christ with the newcomers who have relocated into the Hougang region over the past few years thanks to their multilingual congregations, which speak Hokkien, Mandarin, Teochew, and English.
In 2019, Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church commemorated its 80th birthday. The Lord’s mission has been announced and served for 80 years, and events get planned to celebrate this.
Congregation Service
Bilingual Service
Join your neighbors for a time of praise and worship every Sunday. Worship service bilingual using both English and Mandarin. All ages are welcome in the community, including children, adults working, and young families. Every Sunday, attend the bilingual service at the Level 2 Sanctuary of the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church.
Methodist Mission (Mandarin)
On Sundays at 10.45 a.m. in Naomi Hall, the Methodist Mission at Lorong Ah Soo worships at the Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ Primary School.
Methodist Mission (English)
At 10.45 a.m, the Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ Primary School in Shaw Hall hosts English-language worship services for the Methodist Mission.
Hokkien Service
Every Sunday at 11 a.m., the Hokkien Service is held at the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church in the Level 2 Sanctuary. Come and worship with well-known Hokkien praise songs while hearing God’s message in that language.
Mandarin Service
Every Sunday at 9 a.m., the Mandarin Service is held at the Level 2 Sanctuary of the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church. To worship the Lord in Mandarin, join Mandarin Service!
Teochew Service
Those who worship in Teochew can do so during the Teochew Service. Every Sunday at 2 p.m, worship at the Level 2 Sanctuary of the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church.
Contemporary Service (English)
Praise in a modern setting with worship songs and Christian fellowship. Every Saturday at 4.30 p.m, they attend services at the Level 2 Sanctuary of the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church.
Liturgical Service (English)
Worship the Lord with classic English hymns and in a liturgical fashion. The Level 2 Sanctuary of the Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church is open for worship every Sunday at 4.30 p.m.
