The English and Chinese departments have developed an integrated reading curriculum called iRead as part of a collaborative effort to nurture a love of reading and improve information literacy in students.

iRead is an activity-based reading program that combines the EL, CL, and Library Instructional Programs into one curricular platform. A series of recommended readings, activity papers, and informal assessments accompany this whole-school approach, encouraging pupils to read. Its goals are to instill a love of reading in kids (enjoyment), provide an integrated platform for informal evaluation (achievement), and give a long-term strategy for improving students’ core abilities across the curriculum (Development).
