Guide to Know About Pioneer Polyclinic

Pioneer Polyclinic is the first polyclinic to open in over a decade, and it has many ground-breaking innovations. It is the first pharmacy registration process in Singapore to get automated as part of the company’s quest to increase efficiency through technology. The PIONEER POLYCLINIC is also the first polyclinic to pair patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes with a dedicated care team every time they attend.

How do they take care of patients?

Patients and their families will get assigned to a team consisting of two doctors, one nurse, and a care coordinator under this method. To improve efficiency and establish familiarity between patients and healthcare providers, the team will see the patient and their family members at the polyclinic every time they attend.

PIONEER POLYCLINIC now has three such teams, each with 6,000 patients. The polyclinic plans to increase this to five teams in three years. According to National University Polyclinics CEO Lew Yii Jen, they will be able to care for up to 30,000 patients with chronic illnesses.

Pioneer Polyclinic also maintains a close relationship with the surrounding community. It exhibits drawings by Jurong West Primary School kids, and its doctors have given health, food, and career seminars to the youngsters.

Architecture

It is a 7-story healthcare facility in western Singapore, next to Pioneer MRT station. It houses clinics, a laboratory and x-ray room, pharmacies, support and staff offices, healing terraces, and outdoor activity spaces.

The development’s architecture makes it simple to go in and out. The seamless connection between the urban fabric and users entering and using the building is made possible by a pedestrian barrier-free approach.

Internally, spaces get organized to fulfill programmatic and practical demands and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare workflow procedures. Furthermore, the design fosters community engagement and patient empowerment – from self-registration to health screenings and consultations to drug collection and payment.
