Introduction
There are many different kinds of water parks in Singapore, but only one that is dedicated to the children. Punggol Waterway Park is the largest waterpark in Singapore. The Park is a 1000 meters long with a total area of 2,500 m 2. Punggol Waterway Park is the first water park to be awarded the Blue Flag, which signifies that the water park has been deemed safe to swim in. The Park has water slides, a carousel, and a water sports complex. There are also many playgrounds that are popular with young children. The park was opened 23 October 2011 and operated by the National Parks Board.
Park Location
It is located in the area between Punggol Point and Marine Parade, and it is named after the Punggol waterway which connects the national waterway of the Singapore River to the North-South Expressway. The park is situated between the residential areas of Bukit Timah, Hougang and the upcoming Punggol Central, and is made up of four different zones: a river zone, forest zone, water zone and an esplanade zone.
How To Get There: You can take the LRT from Punggol MRT Station to Damai LRT Station. Walk towards Punggol Road and you will find a path heading to the waterway. Buses to Punggol Bus Interchange: 3, 34, 43, 62, 82, 83, 84, 85, 136.
Parking information
The new public car park at Punggol Waterway Park is open! As of 1st March 2015, there are approximately 2150 parking spaces, with space available on a first-come-first-served basis. The key feature of the car park is that it is barrier-free. This will result in fewer vehicles being parked here, and encourage more people to take public transport or walk to the park.
