Teck Whye Primary School – The Details You Should Know
Teck Whye Primary School got founded in 1959 as Jalan Teck Whye Primary School. It was then located at 36 Jalan Teck Whye and served Chua Chu Kang’s predominantly farming community. When vernacular schools phased out in 1972, the school merged with the nearby Bukit Panjang Malay School.
In 1996, the school moved to 30 Jalan Teck Whye, had previously been home to Bukit Panjang Government High pupils. Teck Whye Primary School gets renamed as a result.
In mid-December 2001, the company relocated to its current location at 11 Teck Whye Walk. Prof Low Seow Chay, then Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang, formally opened the school on June 28, 2002.

Active Learning Programme (PAL):
During curriculum time at Teck Whye Primary School – P1 students will participate in the Program for Active Learning (PAL). It allows our students to explore new hobbies, acquire new abilities, and develop their personalities. It also aids in the development of their self-esteem and the formation of new connections among their classmates. PAL is also where students learn how to solve challenges and make excellent judgments. Outdoor Education, sports and Games, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts are among the four categories through PAL students exposed to various and enjoyable learning activities.
Program for Lifelong Learning:
The Learning for Life Programme at Teck Whye Primary School gets based on Kouzes and Posner’s Leadership Model and strives to promote leadership in all children so that they may be self-assured people.
A diverse range of experiences will get given to all students as part of their leadership development. It promotes leadership awareness across the curriculum and various activities, particularly those that entail contribution and service to others. Students will learn not how to build their leadership abilities, how to interact and influence others responsibly.
Students help others will grow into great leaders who will contribute to and assist those around them.
Media Whiz Kids Applied Learning Program:
The ‘Media Whiz Kids’ (MWK) program is a one-of-a-kind Applied Learning Program. It entails educating Teck Whyeans to comprehend and apply information and abilities learned in Languages, Aesthetics, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to real-world situations.
Students learn about media ideas and media literacy skills in school, allowing them to become critical media consumers. When students watch or hear a piece of media, they will be able to think critically about the bigger picture, analyze the author’s intent and points of view, and then assess and make their conclusions based on that information. Students develop as creative media producers as a result of this process.
