Toa Payoh is a town in Singapore’s Central Region that translates to “great swamp” in Hokkien. It is Singapore’s second-largest satellite town and an established residential area. The TOA PAYOH neighbourhood separates into numerous smaller districts, referred to as Toa Payoh Lorong (which translates to an aisle in Malay) 1 through 8 encircle the town centre, Toa Payoh Central, due to the neighbourhood’s size. Toa Payoh Central was designed so that its shops and facilities would suit the needs of Toa Payoh inhabitants, removing the need for them to travel elsewhere. Its numerous amenities and convenient location make it an excellent home option for the average family.

Toa Payoh has several public facilities, including the Toa Payoh Community Library at Toa Payoh Central. Toa Payoh Stadium, Toa Payoh Sports Hall, and Toa Payoh Swimming Complex are all open to the public to the south of Toa Payoh Central; additional basketball courts and street football courts are scattered around the city. SAFRA has a clubhouse in Toa Payoh as well. Residents can go to the Toa Payoh Town Park to enjoy the variety of vegetation and koi pond waterfall at its centre if the many high-rise residential structures make Toa Payoh seem congested and oppressive.
Shop
The majority of the retailers are located either at the HDB Hub at Toa Payoh Central or in nearby shophouses; these establishments serve all of the residents’ everyday requirements, from selling home supplies and clothing to providing beauty services. However, shops are not just available at Toa Payoh Central but also across the neighbourhood and commonly situated on the void decks of HDBs. These stores also contain supermarkets, making grocery shopping more convenient for locals. At the Toa Payoh Market, you’ll also find fresh produce.
