Guide to know about the Cashew MRT
Cashew MRT Station (DT2) is an underground station on the Downtown Line (DTL) Stage 2 in Upper Bukit Timah, near the planned subzones of Gombak, Jelebu, and Dairy Farm. Cashew Road, which lies nearby, inspired the name. The Cashew MRT station serves the Ministry of Defence Headquarters and numerous army barracks in the Gombak Hill region educational institutions area, despite its location near condos and low-rise housing complexes.
Platforms:
- Platform A:Downtown Line to DT1–BP6 Bukit Panjang
- Platform B: Downtown Line through DT3 Hillview to DT35CG1 Expo

The air-conditioned station is isolated from the environment by full-height Platform screen doors, which improve commuter safety and station comfort. At the platform level, the ceiling is two stories high, giving the impression of space. The concourse gets reached through escalators, stairs, and elevators. Expected train arrival times and dominant messages get shown on Passenger Information Systems, which are plasma display panels positioned at each platform.
Concourse:

Commuters can buy tickets for single or many travels from General Ticketing Machines like Top-up Machines, which accept contactless card transactions. The station office serves as a Passenger Service Centre, where commuters may inquire about travel options During operational hours.
Art in Transit:
Project Eden by Donna Ong
Donna Ong’s “Project Eden” pays homage to the island’s innovative high-rise gardeners. The artist transforms general objects seen in Singaporean homes, including toilet brushes and other domestic goods, into the “flowers” and “grasses” of gorgeous landscapes.
Civil Defence shelter:
Cashew DTL station is one of six Civil Defense (CD) shelters along the Downtown Line 2 that will activate in the event of a national disaster. The stations are constructed and supplied with facilities to guarantee that the shelter environment is comfortable for all shelters during their stay. Protective blast doors, decontamination facilities, ventilation systems, power and water supply systems, and a dry toilet system are among the features available.
