Geylang Methodist School (Primary) began in 1924 as Geylang Methodist Girls’ School when it was founded by Rev Lloyd Sullivan, together with Mrs. Chia Han Kiat and Miss Walker, who were members of the Methodist Church. With a pupil enrolment of 27 girls, lessons were conducted in the sanctuary of Geylang Chinese Methodist Church.
Tao Nan School is a high-performing school, and its pupils consistently score very high on their national exams and win competitions in math. Tao Nan, like all elementary schools in Singapore, they have grades one through six.
Tao Nan School is also offering the Gifted Education Programme that started in 1996. Tanjong Katong Secondary School was founded in 1956, it began its life as a pioneer technical school along Tanjong Katong Road, known then as Tanjong Katong Secondary Technical School.
Tanjong Katong Secondary School is a co-educational government-autonomous school in Singapore. Before its autonomous status, the school was frequently named by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as the ‘Best Non-Independent and Non-Autonomous Secondary School’ in its annual ranking of secondary schools, which has since been abolished. Chung Cheng High School (Main) was founded in 1939 as an all-boys school at 60 Kim Yam Road. With the Japanese invasion of Singapore in 1942, the school was forced to cease operations. The school resumed in 1945 after the Second World War and began to enroll female students.
The school achieved top honors among Singapore schools in the first National Examination in 1947. To accommodate the increase in student population, a 14-acre plot of land at Goodman Road was purchased for a new campus. This new campus became home to Chung Cheng High School (Main) while the original campus at Kim Yam Road housed Chung Cheng High School (Branch).
Broadrick Secondary School was first established in 1968 at Dunman Road as an integrated school with both English and Chinese streams.
The school was officially opened by Mr Joseph Francis Conceicao, the then Member of Parliament for Katong, on 14 March 1969.

Dunman High School (formerly known as Dunman Government Chinese Middle School) is an autonomous co-educational secondary school in Singapore offering the Integrated Programme. It has always been the top co-educational secondary school in Singapore in terms of academic results.
In 1979, the school was selected to be one of the nine Special Assistance Plan (SAP) secondary schools. The school was renamed “Dunman High School” and began to offer both English and Chinese languages at the first-language level.
