Details To Know About The Aljunied Neighbourhood

Aljunied neighbourhood is a suburban district in Singapore’s central business district, adjacent to Paya Lebar and Kallang. In 1926, the neighbourhood was given its name from its agricultural roots, following in the footsteps of Syed Sharif Omar bin Ali Al Junaid, who used to hold a lot of land in the area.

Housing estates, educational institutions, and cultural icons now abound in the Aljunied neighbourhood. Despite its progress to satisfy the needs of modern living, the neighbourhood still has a rustic appeal about it.
