CBD Neighbourhood comprises Raffles Place and City Hall, home to several important financial institutions, office buildings, and commercial facilities. Both areas are comparable in their densely built estates and house a variety of structures that serve a variety of uses ranging from commercial to residential. Under Sir Stamford Raffles’ supervision, Raffles Place was transformed into Singapore’s business core, designated Commercial Square, in the early nineteenth century. Commercial Square, which attracted firms from all over the world, was renamed Raffles Place in 1858 in honour of Sir Stamford Raffles and has been Singapore’s financial hub ever since.

The CBD Neighbourhood Singapore, or City Hall as it is more generally known, is a district in Singapore’s Central Area. The Asian Civilisations Museum, the Esplanade, Fort Canning Hill, the National Museum of Singapore, Raffles City retail mall, and the Supreme Court Building gets located there. Marina East, Marina South, the Museum Planning Area, Newton, Orchard, Outram, River Valley, Rochor, the Singapore River, and Straits View are the Central Area’s eleven component planning areas. City Hall, like Raffles Place, has maintained its relevance in Singapore over the years.

Transportation:

Because of its position and as one of the two MRT interchanges in the CBD Neighbourhood, City Hall MRT station has been one of the busiest MRT stations since its completion in 1987. In addition, Singapore’s first underground mall, CityLink Mall, was erected in 2000, connecting City Hall MRT station to Suntec City.

The mall became a link to Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in 2002, making City Hall MRT station the only station serving both areas until 2010. Esplanade MRT station and Promenade MRT station helped relieve traffic congestion at City Hall MRT station when the Circle line gets ultimately launched. Both Raffles Place and City Hall get served by a wide range of bus routes in addition to the MRT.

Parks and Gardens:

Raffles Place Park, a green oasis in Singapore’s business district, is undoubtedly on the list. It has become a popular hangout location for city professionals who work in nearby business buildings. Pearl’s Hill City Park, a little further out of town, is well worth it. It’s a charming hideaway just 5 minutes from the Outram Park MRT station, built around a reservoir on top of a hill.

Raffles Place features everything a business shopping experience might want. About 300 businesses at One Raffles Place and Raffles City Shopping Centre provide lifestyle, beauty, healthcare, and technical demands. Suntec City, for example, is one of City Hall’s malls that serves the same purpose. All of these shopping malls include major worldwide brands and one-of-a-kind retail experiences.
