Greendale Secondary School
All About Geylang Methodist School Secondary
Greendale Secondary School welcomed its first 320 Secondary students on January 2, 2006. In 2007, Dr Teo Chee Hean, then-Minister for Defence, Minister-in-Charge of the Civil Service, and Member of Parliament for Pasir-Ris Punggol GRC, formally established the school. Mr Mark Gerard Minjoot took over as Principal of Greendale Secondary School in December 2008. Ms Amy Ng, the current Principal, joined the school in December 2014. Greendale Secondary School journey to becoming a School of Choice that Makes a Difference: Home of Committed Learners, Critical Thinkers, and Confident Leaders continues, drawing on the school’s achievements and strengths and with the help of various stakeholders (students, staff, parents, school advisory committee, alumni). The TLF gets founded on the notion that all pupils are capable of learning and succeeding. It is consistent with the Singapore Curriculum Philosophy’s premise that every kid desires and is capable of learning.

Co-curricular activities:
Based on the student’s CCA decision, this domain focuses on specific knowledge, skills, and values. Each CCA has its own set of goals. Physical Sports (PS), for example, help students develop toughness, fairness, and team spirit. The Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) instil in children a sense of graciousness and an awareness of a multi-racial society’s rich history and heritage. Uniformed Group (UG) activities get designed to help students become good citizens by instilling self-reliance, resilience, discipline, and a sense of service to others. Clubs and Societies (CS) allow students to broaden and deepen their interests in various specialized areas, which can be knowledge-based or skills-based. The CCA Program gives students a chance to explore their passions and abilities. Students develop CCA-specific information, skills, values, and attitudes via sustained participation in any CCA group. CCA also provides learning opportunities for kids to develop fundamental values, social and emotional skills, and emerging 21st Century Competencies.
