All you need to know about the Hillview MRT

Hillview MRT station (DT3) is an underground MRT station on the Downtown Line in Singapore, located on the Hillview board and Nature Reserve planning subzones. It spans the Hillview and Nature Reserve planning subzones and gets called for the neighboring Hillview residential neighborhood. The station is located at the intersection of Upper Bukit Timah Road, Dairy Farm Road, and Hillview Avenue and serves the Upper Bukit Timah corridor. Although the area is residential, some commercial buildings are nearby, such as the Rail Mall and Hillv2. Until 2025, the segment rails between Hillview MRT station and Beauty World MRT station on the Downtown Line is the longest between any two MRT stations.

Platforms:

• Platform A: Downtown Line through DT2 Cashew to DT1–BP6 Bukit Panjang 
• Platform B: Downtown Line through DT5 Beauty World to DT35CG1 Expo 

Trains travel in both directions utilizing both platforms at Hillview MRT station, which has two tracks in an island platform design. Full-height Platform screen doors separate the air-conditioned station from the underground environment, improving commuter safety and station comfort. Escalators, stairwells, and elevators lead to the concourse. At the platform level, the ceiling is two stories high, giving the impression of space. Expected train arrival times and dominant messages get shown on Passenger Information Systems, which are plasma display panels positioned at each platform. 

Concourse:

The concourse has faregates for automatic fee collection and access between the station paid and unpaid sectors, with at least one bidirectional wide-swinging gate for passengers in wheelchairs, carrying heavy objects, or those traveling with prams. The station offers a Passenger Service Centre open during operating hours and where commuters may ask for assistance, extend their trip time, or execute card transactions with cash payment. Lifts and escalators connect the concourse to street level at two different entrances. A public restroom gets located near the Passenger Service Centre in the unpaid part of the concourse.

Shelter for Civil Defense:

Hillview station is one of six Civil Defence (CD) shelters along the Downtown Line 2 that will activate in the event of a national emergency. The stations are created and equipped with amenities and reinforced buildings to ensure that the shelter environment is comfortable for all shelters during their stay. Protective blast doors, decontamination facilities, ventilation systems, electricity, water supply systems, and a dry toilet system are among these facilities.
