River Valley High School Secondary was the government’s first secondary school in China. When it moved to Strathmore Avenue, gets renamed Queenstown Government Chinese Middle School. It was formerly known as the Singapore Government Chinese Middle School when it occupied the buildings of Seng Poh Primary School. The Ministry of Education designated the school for renovation and redevelopment as part of PRIME Phase 3. River Valley High School’s long-term expansion plans included a new facility with cutting-edge teaching facilities and a performing arts centre. River Valley High School Secondary just celebrated its 65th wedding anniversary. The Prime Minister’s Book Prize gets given to Lim Jo Xin, a member of the Class of 2020.

River Valley High School Secondary, which opened its doors in 1956, has grown from humble beginnings to become an ‘S.I.A.’ school is a Special Assistance Plan (SAP) school that offers a single-track 6-year Integrated Program (2006) with Autonomous Status. River Valley High School Secondary understands the value of a well-rounded education.
