Upper East Coast Terminal

Upper East Coast Terminal Departure

The Guide to Know About the Upper East Coast Terminal

The Upper East Coast of Singapore is home to the bus terminal known as Upper East Coast Terminal. Bus lines that go along the Upper East Coast terminate at the station. It gets situated across from the Kew housing complex and adjacent to Bedok Camp II. There are no rail connections available. The terminal’s sole vehicular concourse area has an entry and exit that go to Upper East Coast Road and get first used in December 2001. Restrooms, a driver’s lounge, waiting lounges, and passenger sleepers get located in the Upper East Coast Terminal. It also has an office for interchange. A bus park in the middle of the terminal, which gets built as an expansion to the existing bus park, is where buses can stop.

History:

The terminal’s origins may be traced back to the former Marine Parade Bus Terminal on Siglap Road/Siglap Link, which is now the location of Victoria School. After the terminal closed in September 2001, most services get modified to circumnavigate their former position. Upper East Coast Terminal was built to handle some impacted bus routes and provide bus connectivity to the Upper East Coast region. The previous Marine Parade Bus Terminal’s Service 13 and 853# were transferred to Upper East Coast Bus Terminal when it opened on December 9th, 2001. The remaining five services (16, 55, 76, 135, 155, and 853#) continued to loop at Siglap Link. Thanks to the expansion, the terminal can now offer more bus services, including the introduction of Service 46 in 2016 and Service 137 in 2017 and the extension of Services 25 and 55 to the Upper East Coast ( Bedok and Siglap Link, respectively).
