Ang Mo Kio Primary School Services and Activities

The first school in Ang Mo Kio New Town, developed in the late 1970s, was Ang Mo Kio Primary School. The new Primary 1 students get first accommodated at Dorset Primary School for the first three months.

The purpose of Ang Mo Kio Primary School is to care for their kids and help them believe in themselves. They instill in their kids a desire to think creatively and ask questions. They bring out pupils’ abilities and help them reach their full potential.

Various Study Department:

English 

The English department in Ang Mo Kio Primary School aims to raise awareness of the value of reading among students and stimulate and pique their interest in using English.

Students can improve their English language skills through programs including the Schoolwide Reading Program, Project Reading Star, GGRP, the English Language Festival, and the Little Red Dot program.

Mathematics

They promote the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract strategy in mathematics instruction to assist pupils in developing a good foundation in the subject. Students taught different problem-solving techniques, thinking skills, heuristics, and how to apply these talents to solve problems.

Science 

Teaching and learning in science depend on inquiry. In the teaching and study of science, Ang Mo Kio Primary School uses an inquiry-based pedagogy. The 5E Instructional Model is the cornerstone of lesson planning. They provide opportunities for students to explore both within and outside the classroom to excite their curiosity, drive their enthusiasm, and engage them cognitively.

Mother Tongue

For MTL learning, they use students’ familiarity with and usage of ICT. Students’ capacity to utilize the language efficiently and meaningfully gets tested through the ICT platforms in more realistic, interactive settings. The utilization of the iMTL site aids oracy learning as well.

Physical Education

The AMKP PE program offers a variety of learning experiences to help our students strengthen their overall physical development and instill the habit of being active. The focus of the lower primary level is on the mastery of core motor skills such as locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills and the application of movement concepts to improve learners’ efficiency, effectiveness, and flexibility.

Music

Music classes are created and developed at Ang Mo Kio Primary School to instill profound respect for aesthetics. Experience, exposure, expressiveness, and enrichment to accomplish this.
