Bedok South Secondary School is previously located in the Bedok South Housing Estate. The former school location began in January 1980 with a teaching faculty of 50 teachers and 1022 pupils. There were 27 personnel on staff and 575 students registered in the program, which included 12 Secondary One classes and two Pre-University sessions. On December 27, 2002, the school moved to its new site, Jalan Langgar Bedok, Singapore 468585. Mr. Abdullah Tarmugi, Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for East Coast GRC, officially launched the new campus on February 21, 2004. The Bedok South Secondary School now resides in a three-hectare area with buildings that provide a spacious, contemporary, well-kept, and pleasant learning environment.

The slogan of Bedok South Secondary School is “Success through Effort.” We are a high-quality, value-added school dedicated to involving and developing the complete child via student-centred initiatives. The Bedok South Secondary School strives to enlarge all BDSians into active members of society and get equipped with 21st-century skills. To prepare our pupils for life, we believe in instilling the ICARE principles (Integrity, Courage, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Care) in them. BDS culture emphasises learning to care for oneself, family, friends, and community.

The school relocated to a new location, Jalan Langgar Bedok, on December 27, 2002. On February 21, 2004, Mr. Abdullah Tarmugi, Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for East Coast GRC, officially opened the new campus. The school presently occupies a three-hectare site with buildings that give our students a large, modern, well-kept, and pleasant learning environment.
