Guide to Know About Chongzheng Primary School

Primary schools in Singapore have two categories: government-run and government-aided. Although few single-gender schools exist, the majority of elementary schools are mixed-gender. Some primary schools have a secondary school affiliation, and students from the Primary section may be entitled to enroll in the linked secondary school with minimal criteria. Chongzheng Primary School is one of the government primary schools in Tampines, located in Singapore’s eastern region. Karen Anne Albuquerque is the vice principal, while Elaine Quek is the principal.

Distinctive Programs and Services

The Chongzheng Primary School Applied Learning Program, often known as EPIC (Empowering Pupils to Innovate for Community), focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship. Fun Ideas, Serious Solutions is the tagline for this program. Project Work teaches critical thinking, creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to all P1-P6 pupils as part of the school-based innovation curriculum.

The school combines Project Work with the Values-in-Action (VIA) program to allow students to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting. The school has formed an Innovation Club for students interested in developing their innovative skills via intensive training and competition exposure. Students will develop products and undertake projects that aid in community problem resolutions.

The school offers modular music and art programs for its holistic education program. Students get exposed to environmental education through year-long planned programs. With the establishment of Solar eHaven, an open garden-like learning deck on sustainable energy, environmental education gets incorporated into the Science curriculum. Pupils can learn about energy conversion through hands-on activities at numerous stations.

Partnership Between Home and School

Chongzheng Primary School’s Parents Support Group (PSG) was founded in 1999 by eight parent volunteers who helped the school with the Primary 1 Buddy System and concert performances. Since then, membership has grown, as has the breadth of activities available to parents.

PSG changed its name to PaVE-‘Parent Volunteers in Education’ in 2003 to better represent its role in collaborating with schools to help students reach their full potential. There was also the adoption of an official logo.
