Chung Cheng High School Yishun, located on Kim Yam Road in Singapore, was founded in January 1939. The institution drew students from ASEAN countries in its early years when it had exclusively male students enrolled. In September 1945, the school reopened as a co-educational school following World War II. Chung Cheng High School (Main) is located on Goodman Road, whereas the original school on Kim Yam Road was renamed Chung Cheng High School (Branch) and then transferred to Guillemard Road in May 1969. The long-awaited desire to relocate to a more suitable campus has finally come true. Chung Cheng High School (Branch) get renamed Chung Cheng High School Yishun when the school building was completed in 2005 to better serve the Yishun neighborhood in holistically developing pupils.

CCA:
CCA is an essential component of a student’s overall education at school. As a result, CCA participation has become mandatory in secondary school student is obliged to participate in one of the four CCA groups: Clubs & Societies, Physical Sports, Uniformed Groups (UG), and Visual & Performing Arts (VPA). Participation in a school-based CCA allows instructors to guide and record the growth of students in areas like leadership and character development, the 21st Century Competencies beyond what gets taught in the classroom (21CC).
