What to Know About Lakeside Primary School

Lakeside Elementary School is a public primary school in Singapore’s Jurong West district. Under the Education Ministry’s Programme for Rebuilding and Improving Existing Schools, founded by a merger of Yung An Primary School, Merlimau Primary School, and Jurong Town Primary School. Lakeside Primary School opened its doors for the first time on January 1, 2003. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the Minister of Education, later declared it open on July 23, 2004.

Services Offered in School

At Lakeside Primary School, students will get unique learning experiences and opportunities to help them grow into Lifelong Learners and Virtuous Leaders in developing 21st-century skills. To prepare them for the future, they will participate in the school-wide Learn to Think, Think to Learn Program and the trademark Learning for Life Program (LLP) in the Performing Arts.

Based on the LakesidePRIDE principles of Love, Perseverance, Responsibility, Integrity, Diligence, and Respect, they are dedicated to the pupil’s character development through a character and citizenship program supplemented with a Values-In-Action program for kids in Primary 1 through 6.

The dedication of highly dedicated staff and teachers and parents’ positive participation and synergistic relationship with the School Advisory Committee (SAC) and the community are sincerely respected and appreciated for achieving the hopes and vision for kids at Lakeside Primary.

School Curriculum

The curriculum at Lakeside Primary School includes sections on English, Maths, Science, and Mother Tongue Languages. CCAs, Aesthetics, PE, and a Student Development Team are among the other programs they provide.

Think to Think , Think to Learn ProgramĀ 

The Learn to Think, Think to Learn program gets designed to help students become lifelong learners by improving student engagement and deepening their grasp of topic information by teaching them critical and imaginative thinking abilities.

School Parent Support Group

The Parent Support Group (PSG) is composed of parents concerned about their children’s holistic development and academic achievements. The PSG provides a welcoming environment for like-minded parents to connect and share ideas to improve parenting skills and help children achieve their full potential. They are role models for volunteerism and contributions to the community by generously donating their time and expertise to the other parents. Participating in school events is also a method for parents to demonstrate their concern for their children.

School Crest

A blue falcon soaring towards five orange stars is depicted on the school crest, set against a yellow backdrop. Academic, Physical, Aesthetic, Moral, and Social Development are the five domains of development represented by the five stars. The graceful falcon soaring above the five stars with its great wingspan reflects the passion and goals of Lakeside Primary students and staff to achieve success in these five areas.

School Prohibited ItemsĀ 

Students are not authorized to bring toys, cards, or other technical devices to school. Selling things to other students is also prohibited.

Students are not allowed to have firearms in their possession. They cannot bring or possess any harmful or weapon-like items, such as penknives.
