Commonwealth Secondary School

Everything You Need To Know About The Commonwealth Secondary School
Commonwealth Secondary School gets founded in 1964, a year before Singapore gained independence. It began as Tanglin Integrated Vocational Secondary School and was one of the first schools established in Queenstown in the 1960s to serve school-aged pupils. The school was renamed Tanglin Secondary School after five years. The school’s name gets changed in 1972 to commemorate the first meeting of Commonwealth Heads of Government in Singapore the previous year. A Prefect’s Room and a great library were among the most additions to the school. It also had a music room, which housed the first military band at the institution. In 2006, the Commonwealth Secondary School relocated once to its West Coast Road facility, which gets just a short distance from Pandan Reservoir. It has also reinforced its character development program by using the Servant Leadership model and improved teaching and learning by implementing Differentiated Instruction throughout the school.
