Mr. Shi Su created the institution in January 1920. Mr. Lin Zeyang and his supporters contributed to the school’s operation. It began as a night school at 267 Tanjong Pagar Road, Yinbin Club loaned location. The school caters to the requirements of young Chinese migrants. The Gongshang Primary School relocated to 30 Enggor Street on March 1, 1920, and a day school gets established. It aided in the provision of education to migrant children.

Philosophy, culture, and ethos in the classroom:

Gongshang Primary School is a school with a long history and a rich heritage. The institution began as a night school in 1920, named The Chinese Industrial and Commercial Continuation School, which catered to the requirements of young Chinese migrants by combining practical training within its core curriculum. Gongshang Primary School has maintained its rich heritage while stressing a strong Asian tradition and culture. We believe that every child may grow in a secure and caring environment, developing into self-assured, gracious, and morally upright students capable of contributing to society with a sense of purpose and meeting future difficulties.

Curriculum:

The school’s Instructional Programs gets tailored to meet the requirements of our students, employing a variety of student-centered techniques and different learning experiences that emphasize the development of 21st-century capabilities. Character Through Sports, the school’s Learning for Life Programme , is based on a 6-year progressive program result. It gives all students real-world learning opportunities to improve their social-emotional skills and display the essential values of responsibility, honesty, caring, resilience, teamwork, and harmony. It gets accomplished through three types of learning: cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor. The focus gets based on a tiered strategy, which includes catering to the cohort at lower primary , a level-specific tailored approach at Primary 2 and 3, culminating in specialized and targeted instruction for designated pupils at Primary 4 to 6.

CCA Program (Co-Curricular Activities):

The CCA Program is an essential aspect of every Gongshangers’ education.
