Know The Curriculum of Red Swastika School

The World Red Swastika Society (Singapore Administration Centre) established Red Swastika School for its- charity mission and aid individuals in bettering their lives through education. The school has prioritized student growth while simultaneously giving back to society via service-learning since its foundation in 1951.

Every kid who enters the Red Swastika School becomes a compassionate member of the community and an innovative leader, which gets defined as doing things differently to improve the lives of others.

Character and Citizenship Education

CCE is an ideal aspect of Red Swastika School’s curriculum. Students learn values, social-emotional skills, and character and citizenship dispositions through CCE, which helps them grow as people during their formative years.

Co-Curricular Activities

Red Swastika School’s Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) program allows students to explore their interests and talents. CCA can instill a lifelong passion for some activity in students and assist them toward balanced adult life. Teachers construct CCA experiences to engage students and help them grow holistically in their chosen field of interest.

From Primary 3 onwards, students are actively encouraged to join a CCA. Students can choose from various CCA options to suit their interests and skills; the following four categories get used to classify them:

  • Physical sports
  • Visual and performing arts
  • Uniformed groups
  • Clubs and societies

Applied Learning Programme (ALP) 

Creates an exciting but safe learning environment for children to tinker, explore, develop, and grow to nurture their love of learning. They feel that when a child tinkers, continuously thinking. Students can experiment with block-based coding as part of the Red Swastika School’s ALP program. They understand how coding and technology may get employed in real-life situations through it and computational thinking and 21st CC skills. They get the task of using coding and technology to find answers to real-world challenges.

Leadership Development / LLP

The Learning For Life Programme (LLP) – “Every RSS Student a Leader” – was created to support the school’s vision of a Caring Community and Innovative Leaders. RSS students are encouraged to pursue a lifelong goal of being Innovative Leaders who improve the lives of others and contribute to the development of Caring Communities. The three core components of the CIS (Character, Innovation, and Service) Leadership Framework of the LLP’s programs and activities.

Program for Active Learning

The CCE curriculum for pupils in Primary 1 and 2 includes the Programme for Active Learning (PAL). Through exposure to the four PAL domains, PAL provides hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.

  • Performing Arts
  • Visual Arts

PAL allows pupils to grow in character and acquire social-emotional skills. Over two years, all P1 and P2 students complete the Programme for Active Learning (PAL) modules. PAL helps our kids develop dispositions like a lively interest in the world, the capacity to collaborate with others, and confidence in their abilities to complete a task or overcome an obstacle.
