Everything about the School of Science and Technology Singapore

The School of Science and Technology Singapore is a specialised independent secondary school in Singapore that offers a four-year Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level (O-Level) Program or a six-year Integrated Diploma Program. The school employs the Direct School Admissions (DSA) Exercise, which includes a written test and a selection camp, to choose its cohort of around 200 students. The school does not participate in the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise, and the Supplementary Intake Exercise fills in the gaps (SIE). For Secondary 3, SST accepts up to 50 more pupils. The School of Science and Technology Singapore is also the sixth in the FutureSchools at Singapore Programme, with a specialised curriculum based entirely on Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

School Philosophy, Culture, and Ethos:

SST is a Specialised Independent School that offers a unique 4-year GCE O-Level program with an integrated approach to applied learning. Students obtain a firm foundation of fundamental academic topics in Science, Technology, Art, Engineering, and Mathematics while learning in SST (STEM). The ICT uses across the school significantly improve the learning environment and offer the expanded learning materials and networks that digital natives have grown to anticipate. School of Science and Technology Singapore seeks to create a curriculum for students to explore the boundaries of science and technology education as a trailblazer in applied learning and ICT.

Students who learn best in an active applied to study setting, where conceptual understandings and transference of discipline topic knowledge and abilities are encouraged through cognitively challenging hands-on applications placed in real-world circumstances, can benefit from SST. Students learn the skills and potential they need to achieve in the twenty-first century while cultivating the values-driven and community-responsible person and leader via successful character, leadership education, national education, and entrepreneurial activities.

This simultaneous emphasis on a non-academic curriculum supports the development of essential life skills and job competencies, including resilience, prudent risk-taking, creativity, entrepreneurial attitude, effective teamwork and communication, and dynamic leadership.
