What Do You Need to Know About Yuhua Secondary School?

Yuhua Secondary School, located at 35 Jurong West Street  41, was established in 1986 as a state co-educational school and officially opened on September 16, 1988. The school had accomplished several firsts, including being one of the first to implement computer-based learning and hosting a culture night in the World Trade Center. In its early years, the Yuhua Secondary School was for its hockey, harmonica, and concert bands. MOE officially designated the school as the Niche Wind Band School in 2006 for its continued strong performance. Over the years, the school has worked hard to respond to its students’ different interests and needs and promote an inclusive learning environment. The school underwent a PRIME renovation in 2013 and was the first to gain Barrier-Free Access (BFA) designation through the Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) Green Mark recognition.

Our mission as an O-Level Music Center is to inspire curiosity, develop potential, and find our students’ abilities so that they can thrive in their musical activities. Our Yuhuanos are introduced to music via various traditions, philosophies, and practices, making their musical experience at our school an excellent learning adventure.

Learning for Life (LLP) programme:

Our Music Empowered Learners (Music Empowered Learners, Our Dynamic Yuhuans), our Study for Life (LLP) program, is meant to inspire self-discovery, character development, and value sharpening via music learning. Learning a musical instrument requires the maximum amount of perseverance and dedication frequently. Making music together fosters collaboration and sociability by teaching kids to take turns and listen carefully. When studying music, students often struggle to think beyond the box and incorporate new ideas.
