District 24 Singapore is in the northwestern region, including Lim Chu Kang and Choa Chu Kang. Murai, Poyan, Sarimbum, and Tengah are the four reservoirs that make up Singapore. Introduction/History
Lim Chu Kang is known for its farms and cemeteries, and it is home to Singapore’s largest cemetery in District 24 Singapore. Lim Chu Kang was once known as Ama Keng Village and was founded in the early 1900s by Neo Tiew, a Chinese immigrant. Neo Tiew founded Kay Wah School, which is today known as Qihua Primary, shortly after the village was founded. He also ordered the building of the Kay Wah Temple, which is still standing today. The Japanese stunned the British by attacking Singapore across the Causeway during World War II. Lim Chu Kang, located near the Causeway, was the site of numerous deadliest and bloodiest fights, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths.
Development
Choa Chu Kang has been gradually developed as an HDB housing estate inside District 24 since the 1980s, featuring a wide range of educational institutes such as ITE West College, Pioneer Junior College, and Bukit Panjang Government High School. The Choa Chu Kang MRT Station, Choa Chu Kang LRT Station, and the Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange are the public transportation options available in the area. Contrary to popular belief, the neighbourhood has a leisure opportunity, with shopping malls such as Lot One, Junction 10, Yew Tee Square, and Yew Tew Point built and developed time. Several sports complexes, such as the Choa Chu Kang Stadium and the Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex parks, such as Tembusu Park.
Lim Chu Kang
Neo Tiew, a Chinese immigrant, founded Lim Chu Kang in the 1900s by expanding what was then known as Ama Keng Village. He went on to create the Kay Wah School, which is now known as Qihua Primary, and commissioned the construction of the Kay Wah Temple, which is still standing today. During World War II site was infamous for the numerous bloodbaths as thousands of Singaporeans fought to save their island from the Japanese invaders. Lim Chu Kang is home to a heavily protected military installation. A plaque commemorating the soldiers and explaining each fight is also available to visitors.
Choa Chu Kang
The Choa Chu Kang neighbourhood of District 24 gradually evolved into an HDB housing development in the 1980s. Along with began to spring up to serve the residents. Bukit Panjang High School, Pioneer Junior College, and ITE West College. The Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange, Choa Chu Kang LRT Station, and Choa Chu Kang MRT Statio were also constructed. Choa Chu Kang has seen a lot of development in shopping and recreational places. Junction 10, Lot One, Yew Tew Point, and Yew Tee Square are these shopping centres.
