Unique Program Offered by St. Anthony’s Canossian Primary School

St Magdalene of Canossa, the school’s founder, taught that education is about heart formation. They believe that all pupils are equal, and the school’s Canossian Brand of Education (CBE) aspires to develop thinkers, shape the heart (conscience and values), and empower lives. Students have consistently excelled in both academic and non-academic areas over the years. Students are getting groomed into charming and gracious young girls, guided by the St. Anthony’s Canossian Primary School Core Values of Charity, Humility, and Forgiveness.

Meta Description

St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School is an all-girls secondary school in Bedok north avenue 4, Singapore, founded in 1995.

School Unique Program

Pastoral Care

Weekly Pastoral Care (Catholic and Non-Catholic) classes, liturgical activities, termly values discussions, and post-PSLE Programs are all part of the Pastoral Care program. Students are taught morals and life skills through a program developed by St. Anthony’s Canossian Primary School. Stories about the lives of Canossian Saints and other people who have made significant contributions to humanity get woven into the lessons. They use stories to motivate youngsters, allowing them to develop as individuals.

Cyber Wellness (CW) @SACPS

They aim to educate students to be responsible and aware Internet users and build their instinct to safeguard and empower them to take responsibility for their well-being and make well-informed judgments in cyberspace, using the MOE CW framework as a guide.

Positive Peer Relationships

Positive peer relationships aid in the delivery of care, the development of a sense of belonging among pupils, and the development of resilience. Peer relationships among students may be vital sources of good influence and provide fantastic possibilities for student voice and empowerment in the classroom.

Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP)

The FTGP is a weekly time set aside for instructors to engage in quality interactions with their students to develop and strengthen their social and emotional abilities, first implemented in 2012. Teachers will engage in interactive sessions with their students during the weekly 30-minute FTGP courses to foster strong class bonds, establish positive teacher-student relationships, and explicitly teach social and emotional competencies.

Performing Arts and Music

The SACPS Performing Arts and Music Curriculum Program is a school-wide initiative to cultivate confident individuals’ appreciation of the arts in a creative and vibrant arts environment. It also uses music, movement, and theatre to bring Social Studies to life. Students learn about themselves and their immediate environment through this involvement and the deep links Singapore has with the region and the legacy of civilizations around the globe that can still get witnessed today.

Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) lessons

The Ministry of Education (MOE) introduced a new Civic and Moral Education (CCE) curriculum in 2014 to replace the existing Civic and Moral Education classes. These classes get taught in various Mother Tongue languages and English for students who are not required to learn a Mother Tongue language. Through three main principles – Identity, Relationships, and Choices – the new curriculum will help children know values better. National Education (NE) aspects are taught explicitly during sessions leading up to the four NE commemorative events included in the curriculum.
